Hands free walkie talkie

The most recent advance in short range verbal communications is the hands free walkie talkie concept. This makes walkie talkies much more compatible while carrying out activities where you are doing fast moving and physical work.


Mobile phone companies have tried to combat the dangers of people using their cell phone while driving a car because it is dangerous. They though if we can get the phone conversation going while having the driver using both their hands unrestricted it would be great. So after creating the technology for mobile phone users they then made hands free walkie talkie sets. These sets are designed in such a way that you are not required to press button often in order to navigate the menu. Instead a computer talks to you and ask if you would like to call somebody in particular. It also tells you when you have incoming calls and if you would like to pick up, this can all be done without using and hands and having complete control of the vehicle you are driving.

The problem still remains however that when you are in a radio conversation with somebody you will always have less focus on the road thereby increasing the chances of there being a road accident.

Weird behaviour

In recent years I have seen some very weird stuff on the streets when it appears that people are talking to themselves. This gets pretty scary when someone is approaching you and you think they are crazy and talking to themselves in broad daylight while walking down the street. While in fact they are using a hands free walkie talkie set which is not immediately obvious from a distance and only becomes clearer when you get closer to the person.
